We Have a Teenager!

For Nolan's 13th birthday, we set a whole day aside to do two of his all-time favorite things, go fishing and eat out at Red Lobster. At the end of the day we took him shopping for a birthday present and I already can't remember what it was, but I know it was some kind of a toy because I thought to myself sadly, "that's probably the last time he'll ask for a toy for his birthday." He really is becoming such a grown-up guy, and we couldn't have been blessed with a more responsible boy to be the leader of six siblings, which is a good thing because we rely on him to help out - A LOT. He is also a wonderful example to his friends on how to live the gospel and bear the priesthood. Nolan is the Deacon's Quorum President and we are very proud of how he lives his life and carries out his calling. Plus he's still a sweet and cuddly and caring boy...in spite of his ever-growing adolescent attitude! Happy birthday, Nolan. You are so loved!

Super Gordons...End of Summer!

Here's how you close out the summer, Gordon style...with an art class showcase, the beginning of the football season (if you're Nolan), quilting and dress-making (if you're Hanna), learning to tie your shoes (if you're Liam), building a house (at least watching it being built), and LOTS of Mae time for one and all!

Mae's Blessing Day

We did not waste any time getting Mae blessed, mostly because the Greenlaws came to visit when she was about 2 weeks old and we wanted to share her special day with them. Daddy gave her a beautiful blessing. I mostly remember him talking about missionary work and the importance of sharing the gospel. We are both so grateful to Heavenly Father for adding another wonderful daughter to our family. She has brought so much added joy to our house, and we thought we were already as happy as any family can be!

We had a busy schedule while the Greenlaws were in town and Mae was a very good sport. She went biking and hiking, sight-seeing, and out for manis and pedis, among other things. Not bad for her first couple of weeks on earth!
