Our Last and Only Ball Player

I'm sure grateful Mae is still willing to play softball so we can spend some time at the ballpark over the summer. One of my all-time favorite places on earth (with my all-time favorite baby daughter).

 

FSY and Florida

Our big kids got their first taste of FSY this summer, even Liam and Jenny. Since they now have close cousins right in their same stake, they were all lucky enough to have familiar roommates (except Liam, but he was a good sport and made a new friend).  Everybody seemed to have a very spiritual and uplifting experience. I missed them tons but I also realized that we would have Reed and Mae all to ourselves for a whole week and we could finally give them all the attention they don't usually get - so we booked a little trip to Florida with them. And when Destini surprised us by moving home all of a sudden, we added her to the trip too! We've never had her living under our roof before, so she deserves a little extra attention too ♡. We enjoyed the beach and a day at Universal, and Scotty and I got away for a dinner date all by ourselves. Best part of that week, though, was picking everybody up at the end and being back together again.

 

Scout Camp 2023

Liam and Reed were our only Scouts at camp with dad this year. It's such a strange time of shifting in our family right now - everybody is moving up a notch. Scott said they both did great - no homesickness, just fun and adventure. While they were gone, the kids at home helped me set up a mini-fridge in Scotty's office (and clean and decorate a bit) for Father's Day. Mae played in the splash pad all alone. And Colby missed his little brothers so much, he had to con Destini into playing Yu-Gi-Oh with him.
