Fall Campout with Family

One of the fun family things we can do, now that there are so many Wellmans in Kansas...is go camping! This was near Lake Wilson, I think. We did all the important things - ate like kings, got covered in dirt. Even grandma came, and it was so fun!

 

Scotty/Tami Time

This was not a business trip - just Scotty and me opting to get away. We wanted to hike and we needed to use our Southwest flight credits, so...Utah! And because it was October, the trails in the Salt Lake City foothills also provided a fall foliage tour. Perfect temps, beautiful views! We toured Temple Square in the rain, met a Malagasy missionary, and ate out lots. The SLC Cemetary was a highlight. I was enamored to see the resting places of all my church history heroes. I kept a pinecone from Jane Manning James' grave, and I brushed off the headstone of Emmaline B. Wells (which was halfway grown over). I hope to meet these spiritual giants in person some day. Scotty's favorite find was Gordon B. Hinckley, the prophet of our youth ♡. Of course, the best part of these trips is always time spent with my best friend.

 

Devin and Emily's Wedding

We Gordons were very involved in the execution of this wedding - from painting pinecones to serving cake. Mae even walked down the aisle as a flower girl (pinecone girl?). Destini and I were the bride's and bridesmaids' hair and makeup stylists. The bride and groom did their first look and bridal photos in our yard. As you can imagine, we loved every minute of all of it! We love being perfectly blended in an extended family with these awesome neighbors. And after all he's been through, Devin is now happily married to the kindest of women with a baby on the way! What a gift ♡
