Fantastic 45th Birthday

The best birthdays are the ones spent with Scotty - this year he took the day off of work for me. We went for a beautiful walk and out to lunch in Wichita with my mom and sisters. After some furniture shopping and a pink drink at Starbucks we headed back to Pratt. That evening the Bowmans met us at the lake for smores and a campfire. It was so fun! So nice to be loved ♡.

 

Texas Road Trip!

We sure started the summer off right this year - by ditching the last day of school and getting the heck out of town! We got up at 3am and drove all the way down to the rock bottom of Texas (I shouldn't say "we" because Scotty did ALL the driving). On the way there, we made a point to take a break in Temple and Killeen where Destini and Jenny were born and where their Grandma is buried. It was a lovely breezy day to take flowers to her grave and say a family prayer for her. I have an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for Marlene Beireis because she kept our precious girls alive and fed, even while she was alone and poor and sick with cancer. It feels like we are all one family now. The rest of the weekend was spent on South Padre Island in a pretty VRBO right on the beach. All the smiles in these pictures will speak for themselves!

 

End of the School Year

Ok, great ready for the long list of end-of-the-year activities:

Colby sang a solo in the high-school music festival, Liam played trumpet in the band and sang in the 7th grade choir, Mae had a zoo field trip and a birthday party at school (even though it's not her birthday), Colby and Hanna advanced another year in seminary and Hanna performed with Robed Choir, Jenny rocked her 6th grade choir performance, and Reed won some big math award (although he missed the awards ceremony because we took off out of town to go on a vacation). Peace out school year...it's summertime!
