Kansas City Celebration!

Something as BIG as an adoption requires a big celebration! This trip to Kansas City, Royals game, World's of Fun, Temple, and a sweet VRBO with horses...were the perfect thing.

 

Adoption Day ♡

Today was the long-awaited court hearing for Destini and Jenny's adoption! There was tons of nervous excitement in the air for all of us, as their biological parents had not signed away rights, and the results of our efforts were still uncertain. Devin's girlfriend Emily kindly attended in support and became our official photographer. Destini, Jenny and I were all called to the stand to testify - it was very movie like. In the end, the judge ordered we be granted the adoption after a 30 day waiting period. So it was a semi-win, somewhat anticlimactic, but we put on t-shirts, took pictures, and went out for a celebretory dinner anyway. And now, 08/22/2022 will go down in history as a very important and happy day in the Gordon family. We are so grateful that these two sweet, special girls are officially ours.

 

Cousins Temple Trip

These are the best kids and cutest cousins. We had such a special experience doing baptisms for our ancestors in the OKC Temple as a family. Lots of fun at the mall together afterward as well - the most popular shopping spot was a rubber duck vending machine, haha! So grateful to have the Hardins so close.
