Halloween 2013

Halloween in Pratt was awesome. Small towns really know how to have big holidays. The festivities covered a two day span. On Halloween day the kids all had parties at school, of course. I went to help out at Liam's. He and his cute little class put on quite a show for us moms. Sadly, Colby was sent home sick by the school nurse that day, which meant no trick-or-treating for him. You can imagine his discouragement, but he really wasn't up for it. His brothers and sisters vowed to collect candy for him, though, and they made good on their promise.

In Pratt, all the businesses on main street open up to trick-or-treaters right after school...so we did that first. It was fun to see everyone in town out on main street at the same time - total parade of costumes. Then we went to the wildlife museum and aquarium which was decked out like a haunted house and where the kids got MORE candy. I intended to take the kids back to our neighborhood for actual trick-or-treating, but they were so preoccupied with their candy that I just ordered pizza instead. We stayed in and passed out candy the rest of the night. The missionaries hung out with us too.

The next evening was our Branch Halloween Party at the Hopkins' house. Scott and I were in charge of the "Monster-in-the-Box" and the "Freaky Feeling Table." The Hopkins did a donut-on-a-string game. The Greenlaws had awards for all the kids costumes and for the chili cook-off. The best part is that Colby was feeling better by then and was able to dress up and come with us. Totally good times.
