Monarch Mountain

Another skiing trip in the books for us Gordons. I'm so grateful that the Clarksons brought us to Monarch Mountain and got us hooked last year. So far, there isn't a single member of the family who doesn't absolutely love skiing! It has been such a fun hobby to enjoy as a family. This year we brought our friends the Boones and stayed in a cabin with them way up on the mountain (less than a mile from the ski resort). Each of us has a buddy in the Boone family so it was great fun. There was plenty of snow around the cabin and a little creek of running water and a bridge to keep us entertained. The kids and I spent several hours building snow castles. But the skiing was the best part. The kids are all getting proficient enough to keep up (Reed was riding the big lift and skiing greens, and Liam was skiing greens and blues!). It was so fun to all be on the mountain together. Nolan tried snowboarding this year, like his dad. He was a natural! Mae stayed home with grandma and got spoiled and doted on. The Boones ended up having some minivan trouble because of the slick roads and the deep snow, so we had to shuttle people around and they had to go home in a rented SUV. But other than that, the weekend was a big success. Everybody improved and no one got hurt!
