Reed turns EIGHT

Age eight landed on Reed very happily - full of his favorite people. Mommy, Daddy and Mae brought treats to his 2nd grade class. Wyatt, Ian, Crosby and Calvin rode home with him on the bus and stayed to play. He had a dinner of breadsticks (his favorite) while everyone else ate pizza, then a cookie cake - our own invention at his request. About a week later (on September 21st), he was baptized and the celebrating began again. More loved ones gathered with us: Grandma Gordon all the way from AZ, Aunt Chrysta and the cousins from Wichita, the Hopkins, the Greens, the Hackers, the McEleyeas, the Phipps, the Barretts. We had a luncheon of Italian food (breadsticks again). I was happy to see Reed having fun and surrounded by love and support, and even more happy to have our youngest son joined with us in the Church of Jesus Christ and His cause. Reed has a special spark of goodness. He is keenly intelligent and understands deep things. I know that he will make a great contribution to the work of the Lord. My favorite moment of all was the next day at church when Reed was invited to stand in sacrament meeting so he could be sustained and recognized for being baptized. He couldn't contain his giant smile. His face beamed the feelings we both felt - proud and joyful.
