It was absolutely imperative that Hanna and I play Rory and Lorelai from Gilmore Girls at some point...so, this year was the year! Our costumes were impeccable. Scott was, of course, a very handsome Luke - making the whole ruse even more perfect. The boys teamed up as Star wars characters for Nolan's first Halloween since the mish (adorbs). And Mae just wanted to wear the spider costume from her school play. She wins all the cuteness awards no matter what she wears. Destini was an elegant Disney Princess and Jenny dressed up with friends (something weird like frat boys that they all thought was totally cool). We missed Jenny when she passed up a cousin gathering in Wichita to stay with friends and trick or treat - but I'm happy she was living her best life on the streets of Pratt! The rest of us ransacked the Hardins neighborhood and basked in Uncle Mark's holiday enthusiasm.
I didn't get any pictures this year, but we did have another fabulous Day of the Dead at our house, with the Wellmans joining us for the first time. It was, as Mae would say, very Coco Loco. Our collection of family stories is getting larger and more awesome, especially as we add the stories of Destini and Jenny's relatives - our noble girls descend from some pretty amazing pioneers.
