Gordon Family Reunion

 

Since we were coming down to Arizona for a Wellman reunion, the Gordons were kind enough to organize one immediately after. So, we went directly from one cabin reunion to another...and we pretty much (almost) got to see everyone we love in one jam packed week. The Gordon reunion was in Pinetop at our old favorite (Somewhere II Retreat). We did our usual sitting around and visiting/reading/card playing, and made our usual visit to the Alpaca Farm (always a pleasure). And this year, Aunt Janae led all the teens and tweens in a pop music jam session. Those cuties sang their hearts out! To top it all off, Grandma Gordon booked us some horseback riding, which happened to land exactly on Liam's birthday (making it extra special). It was awesome to be able to celebrate Liam with so many of his loved ones around. He chose a minecraft theme for cake and presents, and we never have a birthday for Liam without eating pizza! That sweet, smiley boy is 7 now and he keeps getting better and better. I love him to the moon!

Wellman Family Cabin Reunion

We've made a few attempts at "family reunions" over the years...this one was actually pretty legit, pre-planned activities, t-shirts and everything. Lori and Brad and Jeff and Melanie provided the venue by purchasing cabins in the woods at the same time together, but separate. Convenient. Everybody came but Eric and Laura who were in the process of moving, and Scott and Cheryl who were way out on the east coast. But even lacking two families, we were a giant group, and managed to organize a lot of quality bonding time. I.E.: a ping pong tournament, 4th of July parade and sparklers, hiking and cave exploring, pickle ball and other assorted court games, Bearizona, and food, food, food. Admittedly, I hated planning it, but the pay-off paid off...I got to see my brothers and sisters. I love these people to the depths of my soul.
