New Year's 2020

2019 closed out quietly for us. Mom was out of town so it was just the 8 of us. We had just arrived home from our trip and didn't have time for fanfare - no fancy party food or decorations like we usually do. We just ordered a bunch of take-out from all over the place and scavenged what was left from our stockings. Played Uno, watched movies, did a puzzle. It was pretty great. Kind of set the tone for one of my New Year's resolutions, which is to slow things down, keep things simple, and focus on together time in the coming year. I don't want to miss a single chance to snuggle, cuddle, talk, laugh, listen, love, cry, etc., in 2020. I plan to hold my treasures close and not take them for granted. We are also looking forward as a family to following all the recent requests of our Prophet, to study the Book of Mormon and to prepare spiritually for April General Conference and the 200th anniversary of the 1st Vision. I asked some of the kids what stood out to them about 2019...Reed said "getting baptized was the best feeling!" And Mae said she remembers her Pinkalicious birthday party! Life this year has been, as always, blessed and beautiful. That seems to remain consistent throughout the years. I really do believe it's because our love for and desire to live the Gospel has also remained consistent throughout the years. We just don't really need anything more than each other and the peace the Gospel brings.
